Do you provide training for new members? |
No, we are not a training provider but we can support new members through mentoring by other experienced members. |
Do I need to have done woodworking before to join the shed? |
No, you do not need woodworking skills. It may easier for you if you have done practical activities in the past but it is not a necessity. |
What kind of projects can I get involved with? |
It's really up to you. You could participate in one of our big build community projects, you could create craft items for fairs or you could work on your own project. |
What Equipment do you have? |
We have a good range of equipment which includes some large machines as well as powered hand tools. We can handle most projects. |
I have disabilities can I still become a member? |
Yes, we welcome members of all abilities. Please see our health page for more information. |
I don't drink tea or eat biscuits, can I still become a member? |
We can't understand it, but yes, you can still become a member. |
Can women join the mens shed? |
They certainly can, whilst our primary aim is to support men we are very happy to welcome women to the shed. |
How old do I have to be to join? |
You must be at least 18. |
What equipment do I need to bring. |
Nothing, all you need is some clothes that you dont mind getting a bit dusty or the occasional bit of glue on them. |
Do you accept donations of tools or equipment? |
We are grateful for all offers of donated materials or equipment, but can only accept items that we are able to use – please contact us in advance to arrange drop-off of any donation |
Can I just come to the cafe? |
No sorry, our little cafe is for members only. |
